Fostering A People-First Safety Culture
Safety is non-negotiable. It is a commitment that guided our actions and decisions. We have strong leadership and a firm dedication to developing a safety culture.
We place a very high priority on looking after the safety and health of our people. To this end, it is imperative that a safe and conducive working environment be created to enable them to grow, progress and excel. Our Occupational Safety and Health induction and awareness programme is the first step to engaging new employees, contractors and visitors regarding on-site and workplace safety aspects.
Occupational Safety and Health Programme is continuously conducted annually to create, build and sustain the awareness of occupational safety and health (OSH) and risk control management throughout the Kilang Beras BERNAS (KBB) and warehouses.
Working closely with various external agencies such as the Department of Safety and Health (DOSH), the Department of Environment Malaysia, the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department and other local emergency agencies, BERNAS continue to ensure alignment with the applicable statutory requirements. We had also formed Emergency Response Team (ERT) at our premises as the first line of defence in situation of emergencies.
Holding on to our safety slogan “Budaya Kerja Selamat Satu Tuntutan”, we have succeeded in managing safety and health at the workplace. Our final objective is to achieve the Zero-Accident target by enforcing a stringent set of operational controls for more effective risk management.
