Decarbonising Rice Production
We promote sustainable environmental practices at all of our milling plants by converting from conventional drying mechanisms to eco-friendly drying technology while respecting the product quality. We have converted to this sustainable energy generation for many years.
Today, paddy at our rice mills are being dried using the husk-fired hot water boiler generator system (HWG). This hot water thermal energy system will supply heated air to the inclined bed dryers (IBD) using a heat transfer system or a heat exchanger in the paddy drying process.
The HWG is equipped with an air pollution control system, which plays a vital part in our air pollution mitigation strategy. This pollution control system facilitates the reduction and treatment of hazardous emissions during the paddy drying process. Therefore, it improves the indoor air quality at our mills and provides a cleaner, conducive and favourable work environment for our employees and our surrounding communities.
